MAC Kites are very fast Nylon Fighter Kites with exceptional spin rates, easily comparable to the best traditional Indian paper kites with the added strength and durability of bonded rip-stop nylon.

The MAC series of Fighter Kites are available in three sizes - Mini (12" Spine), Midi (16" Spine) and Mega (23" Spine).

The following guide to size, speed and wind conditions is directly related to which particular MAC kite you purchase. As a rule of thumb, the Mini MAC will fly and spin faster than the larger Midi & Mega MACs but requires a strong wind due to the reduced sail area. The Midi MAC is just that, a kite that will fly and spin very well in average wind conditions. The increased sail area of the Mega MAC creates a greater wind resistance and although this will result in a slower, steadier flight it will enable the kite to be flown, under full control at great distances in a light wind.

Therefore, it is reasonably safe to assume that if the wind is light, a large kite would be the right choice, as it would catch more of the wind. In stronger winds, select a smaller kite, as it would survive the wind better with the added bonus of a considerable increase in speed and manoeuvrability.

One important factor, which also affects the speed of the fighting kite, is the bow. A kite made with a soft bow will fly slower than one made with a stiffer bow. The bows are of a different specification on all models of Mac kites, all three designs have been tested and the bow selected for optimum performance.

For your first fighting kite, we would recommend a Midi or a Mega MAC, both of which have a softer bow. Once you have mastered these, you may consider a Mini MAC with a stiffer bow for a faster, more challenging flying session.

For some time now the Mac team have been working on the nylon Indian style Mac fighter. These fighters come as before, tried and tested and in two sizes 17” and  20” spine length in Mylar and nylon, each fighter  custom built to your requirements. All kites are hand made by Mac using the finest Nylon and the tried & tested bonding method, you have all come to expect from a Mac fighter.  Each fighter has a bamboo bow and spine.  The kite has been built as near to tradition as possible using modern materials.  I hope you will like them as much as we do.     (Mac)
